Monday 1/21/2013 – Sunday 1/27/2013

Monday was a good day. Just basically did the usual. Cleaned, shopped, talked to the family! Then played some basketball!!! We also had a great FHE with the Looney's!

Tuesday was good. It was my five month mark and it was also the day that Kobe scored 81 points in 2006! Woo!! I also did my first District Meeting which seemed to go pretty well. The rest of the day was filled with appointments that fell through. So we headed to Walter's to play chess for the last time with him. We had to tell him that we can't play games anymore. Then I had a way good dinner with the Liebenhaut's! Holy moly that was some good stuff. I don't know what it was called. Then we OYM's before heading home.

Wednesday we helped Brother Feather's move his smaller stuff into his van. He also gave us a butt ton of food! Then we picked up Karsten to bring him to appointments that fell through. Went and contacted Sister Verdiano and talked to her and a couple other ladies for a bit. One was a non-member so I think we were there to plant a seed. She was very nice, but she wouldn't take a BOM. Then we had dinner with the Jones' and Dickson's in our ward. They are both really young couples.

Thursday was weekly planning and 3 appointments fell through. We ate at Sonny's and then went and had a lesson with the Tucker family. Worked hard trying to find people to teach. Then tried to finish weekly planning.

Friday we helped Brother Feather's with the big furniture and there was a lot!! After that, I got to do my first baptismal interview with Rosa. That was exciting! Then we took Brother Culligan to a lesson that fell through. He is a legit guy! Convert of 6 months and is in the National Guard. Then we had dinner with the Looney's. They made an all organic dinner and the chicken was way good!

Saturday was a really good day. First we started off at the flea market, but didn't find anyone.
Then we went and walked to some people’s houses and street contacted some people. We went and saw some less actives as well and talked to some nice people along the way. Then we tracted a bit and found a couple solid potentials. Then we taught Amanda. She is an investigator who came to church basically on her own and made her less active boyfriend come as well.

Sunday was Ward Conference and all of the lessons were way good and very inspiring. We also had a lunch with the Geiger's. Great food! Brother Geiger makes some way good meat loaf! Then we saw Brother Flannery at his home because his mother passed away so we wanted to go and see him and try to cheer him up. Then we went and saw France. She is a less active and her brother does hurdles at BYU and is the second fastest in the country apparently.

Love y'all back home!

Monday 1/14/2013 – Sunday 1/20/2013

Monday we emailed first so we could check the transfer board. We found out Elder Lovell and I are staying in Tally 4 and Elder Olsen is leaving to Pine Forest. I then found out that I am now going to be the District Leader. I am pretty nervous, but I will just do my best. So we shopped quick and then went to FSU to take pictures at the football stadium. Then we headed to the Long's for a delicious dinner of homemade pizza, then had a quick FHE with the Looney's.

Tuesday we had District Meeting and luckily I wasn't District Leader yet because I would not have been able to do it. Then we had some Stevi B's with the campus Elders. Then we headed out to teach Tabatha. She is doing very well! Then we had a lesson with Brother Gorby which was good. Then we went home for Elder Olsen to pack. Then we went to Sister Walker's for dinner and had some spaghetti. Then went home for Elder Olsen to pack some more.

Wednesday was transfers! First we picked up the campus Elders and then Elder Olsen and Prince left with our car so we had no car. So we studied with Elder Eldredge until someone came to get him because he is going home. Then we walked and walked and walked all day! Talked to a ton of nice people and accidently walked through FSU's campus because we were trying to find a house that was near it. We met Oprah...though it was not Winfrey. So it was a good day.

Thursday we taught Betty that we met Wednesday. We can't really tell if she understands the things we are teaching her. Then we weekly planned. Tried to see Oprah, she wasn't home. Then we had some amazing food with the Bishop family. Met some promising people tracting. Then had a lesson with the Tucker's on faith which went well.

Friday we did a ton of street contacting and found a couple people that we are going to teach. Had an awesome lesson with Karsten as well. He is a really cool guy and he wants to go out to do lessons with us. Had dinner with the Tensmeyer's and talked about the Priesthood with them. Then went to set up a few appointments. It's more effective to just show up at people's homes.

Saturday we first helped Amy move and that was pretty sad. I hope the best for her! She is an awesome person and I am so happy I could bring the gospel into her life. She gave us a thank you card and that was so cool to get. Thanks Amy! Tracted then taught Dave, he dropped us. Met a nice guy named Lee when we were tracting, but we can't teach him because he works every single day, but we gave him a Book of Mormon. Tracted some more then headed to a Chinese buffet with Brother Schank which was way good. Then we decided to go and to teach Elmore. That went pretty good, but he just doesn't show much emotion so it is hard to tell if he likes us there.

Sunday we had PEC and Ward Council way early. Then had an excellent church! It just refreshed me. Then had coordination after that and headed home to eat. We had an appointment with a deaf guy named Frank, but it fell through and we waited for a while for our translator, Sister Russell, to get there, but she never showed up. She probably got lost. Hopefully she didn't keep looking and just headed home. Then we had dinner with the Harris' family which was way fun. Their kids ask so many questions so it makes it really fun. Brother Harris also played basketball professionally for 10 years. Never was signed to an NBA team but any pro level is good. Then we went out to see some people and met a lady named Anne. She lived through some crazy stroke thing that I guess really did some damage. She was cool and she was very obsessed by the "Jesus star" as she called it.

Monday 1/7/2013 – Sunday 1/13/13

Monday was a great day! I got to play both basketball and volleyball! That was way fun and I don't even remember what else happened...

Tuesday we had District Meeting which was good. Then after that we had a trade off with the Campus Elders. Elder Olsen went to campus and Elder Eldredge came to our area. It was a good day. First we had a lesson with Amy and she seemed to be doing well. She is still reading and praying, but it is hectic because unfortunately she is moving back to St. Augustine. Then we went and taught Tabatha which went really well! We taught her about the Plan of Salvation and she had great questions that we were able to answer for her. She is moving towards baptism really well, but we aren't able to set a date with her yet. Then we tracted and found some potentials that seemed like they could be promising.

Wednesday we went and picked up Elder Olsen after studies to trade back. Then we had to go to the doctor for Elder Lovell. Then we went and taught Tabatha again and she is doing awesome. We found out that she can get baptized if she wants and that she wants to go to church she just has trouble getting there. She should be getting her license soon. Then we had dinner and then Family Home Evening with the Ogden's. That was way fun and enjoyable.

Thursday we went to the legally blind guy’s house that Dan referred us to. His name is Alan and he is way nice. He has 20/400 vision and he doesn't use a cane or anything which is impressive. He has his own radio station and has a ton of records that we looked at. Some that he has were Journey, ABBA, the BeeGee's, Beatles and Elvis. Then we weekly planned until dinner at the Lahtinen's. That was really good food! Then we went to the Tucker's and read from the JSH about the first vision. Great lesson! We invited Sister Tucker to pray about whether Joseph Smith was a prophet or not, but she didn't want to so she had me do it. That is something I had never done, but as I did it I felt the spirit so strongly testify to me that he was a prophet. That was so cool!

Friday Dan came over to get some supplies to work on another property so we were able to talk to him a bit and try to help him search for spiritual evidence and not physical. Then we just tracted a lot today and tried to find people to teach. Didn't have too much success. Then we went to the Kent's for dinner and to teach Sister Kent about the gospel. It was a weird lesson and it didn't seem like she really wanted to learn. The spirit wasn't strong either.

Saturday we tried to contact some people again because we have a ton of referrals. No luck so we went to lunch with Elder and Sister Mower. They took us out to Firehouse Subs, which was delicious! Then went contacting again and found a guy that is going to let us teach him. We also met his neighbor who is deaf and we are going to teach him as well. Then we went to teach Paris, but she wasn't home, just her sister, was so we talked to her and found out some good information.

Sunday was a great day! Church was awesome! A ton of great talks and then Gospel Principles was full and it was another great lesson. Priesthood was way good too! Brother Shannon did a great job with his lesson and the Lorenzo Snow manual is great! After church we split up, Elder Olsen took Keith to teach the Deaf Guy and we found out his name is Frank. Elder Lovell and I went tracting and found two solid potentials! Then we had a lesson with the Radabaugh's and talked to them about prayer and scripture study. They also have someone that they are sharing the gospel with and we might be teaching him in the future. Then we had dinner with the Gardner's and they made pulled pork sandwiches is what I think they were. Anyway, they were way good!! Then everything fell through in the evening.

Monday 12/31/2012 – Sunday 1/6/2012

Monday we did the usual. Cleaned, shopped, emailed and tried to get a haircut and the haircut places were closed again. Played some checkers and chess too. Then had dinner with the Russell's and that was fun. They gave us a few different types of jams. Then we had to go home because it was New Year’s we had to go in early.

Tuesday was the first day of the year! Holy crap where does time go? I am going to be 21 this year....I am so stinkin old! Well, today we went out and spent most of the time contacting referrals and finding people to teach. We went and saw Walter and decided that we probably shouldn't go there anymore even though we do help him. Usually we just play chess with him, but we found out that we can't do that. Also, had dinner with the Beyer's and had some venison burgers and hog pork chops. They hunt so much and it tastes so much better then beef. Contacting sucked though and we also went to Bill's. He rambled about angels and wouldn't really listen to what we had to say.

Wednesday we went to see if we could contact people that told us to teach them. We weren't able to teach them though, but we did our part. We contacted some members as well and taught some less actives. We also had dinner with the newlywed Jones' family. It was fun, but kinda weird being with people that are our age. Then we went and finally contacted and taught Josh S. He is an atheist and is a really nice guy.

Thursday was weekly planning. Then we headed out to teach Jim. He seemed like he wanted to bash, but we kept it in control and testified a lot! Then we went to dinner with the Oak's and had a really good lesson on faith with them. Then we went to the Tucker's and read the BOM and talked about church, reading and prayer.

Friday we woke up early and went to get DJ. He is a prospective Elder and we took him out with us all day. We started the day going to a lesson with Joshua who likes to talk about Christ and about the similarities. He is going to read and pray, but we probably won't get to teach him again for a while. We then went out to the boonies and split up. I went with DJ and we tracted and had no luck while Elder Olsen and Lovell went to see the Stansel's. Had dinner with the West's and when the dessert was being served, Brother West said, "This stuff will kill ya" and Elder Olsen responded with, "I'm ready to die." Haha! Then we went and read the BOM with a less active/part member family, the Kent's. The best part about the visit was when DJ fell asleep for like 20 or 25 minutes during the lesson. We laughed our butts off!

Saturday we taught Josh again, but he told us he has no desire to know if there is a God. He is planning on reading the BOM though. We tracted a ton as well and also had dinner with the Matkin family. That is the Bishop's family. Then had a lesson with Tabetha and focused on helping her dad learn of why it is important the BOM is true. Hopefully, he keeps reading and praying.

Sunday we woke up early again and had meetings. Had a full class during gospel principles and met a potential investigator through that! She is pretty interested. Had dinner with the Hodge/Berkeley family which was way fun! They are awesome. We also taught Elmore, but we can't figure him out thus far. We also found out that Amy is leaving to St. Augustine which is very sad, but I hope and pray the best for her! She will be fine after all she has the gift of the Holy Ghost! :)
